Mercelia Agnes (Olonzo3, Margaret2, John1) was born in Scipio, Hillsdale County, Mich., June 8, 1851. When she was nine years old her father removed with his family to Igo, Shasta County, Calif. She was educated in the schools at Igo. In 1869 she became the wife of John T. Adkin. He was born in New Orleans in 1845, his father being English and his mother German. They settled in California in 1854.

Mr. and Mrs. John T. Adkin purchased a farm at Ono, Shasta County, Cal., where they still reside. (1913) Their occupation has been farming and stock raising. Their children were born in Ono and there they attended the public schools.

John Corliss Adkin

John Corliss (Mercelia4, Olonzo3, Margaret2, John1) is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Adkin and began his earthly pilgrimage in 1874 on his father's farm in Ono, Cal. He was so suited with farming and stock raising that he has continued in these employments on a farm of his own in Igo, Cal. For a helpmate he chose Bertha F. Miller to whom he was married in 1898.

Etta Mabel, (Mercelia4, Olonzo3, Margaret2, John1) younger daughter of Mercelia A. and John T. Adkin, was born in Ono, Cal., in 1876. She was educated in the public schools of Ono. In 1899 she became the bride of a young farmer named Henry G. Arnold. Their home is in Happy Valley, Shasta County, Cal.

Harry Olonzo Adkin

Harry Olonzo (Mercelia4, Olonzo3, Margaret2, John1) is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Adkin and was born in 1879 in Ono, Shasta County, Cal. His boyhood was spent on the farm and he attended the public school of Ono. He married Miss Leonora S. Steele., November, 1910. They moved to Portland, Oregon, where they now (1913) reside. Mr. Adkin is oiler and fireman in a factory employing 200 workmen.

He is unmarried and resides in the home of his father. He is engaged with his father in farming and stock raising.
