Jane (James2, John1) third daughter of James and Jane Shepherd, was born in Dearborn County, Ind., on June 17, 1828. She married Elisha T. Griswold, December 12, 1849. He was born October 2,1830. She was an active, energetic woman. Her husband was a cooper by trade. For several years their home was in Edinburgh, Ind. She was a member of the M.E. church. She died at Edinburgh, October 29, 1905. Mr. Griswold is still (1913) living.

George B. Griswold was a blacksmith by trade. He married and had one child, Clarence. Mr. Griswold moved to California and has not been heard from in many years.

James S. (Jane3, James2, John1) was the son of Jane and Elisha T. Griswold. He was born Octo/r 14, 1855. When he had grown to manhood he engaged in the livery stable business at Evansville, Ind. He was married in 1881 to Miss Nancy Bridges. Five children were born to them. They separated and Mr. Griswold married Miss Carrie Ross. Mrs. Nancy Griswold died February 28, 1902. James S. Griswold died May, 1906.

William Kenneth, (James4, Jane3, James2, John1) oldest child of James S. Griswold, was born October 25, 1882. His letters showed him to be a man of good education, but told nothing of his profession or occupation. In 1910 he resided in Tuscola, Ind. His present residence is unknown. He was unmarried in 1910.
Edna Griswold and Hazel Griswold were married in 1910 or before that date. We did not learn the names of their husbands or places of residence.

He was three times married but had no children. He married his third wife, Laura, May 18, 1905. He died July 30, 1907.

William D. (Jane3, James2, John1) was born February 23, 1862. He was a marble cutter by occupation, and resided at Cambridge, Ind. He married a Miss Wagoner, of Terre Haute, Ind. We know nothing of his family, and did not learn the date of his death.

Don J., (Jane3, James2, John1) the youngest child of Jane and Elisha Griswold, was born in 1865. He is a marble cutter by trade. He married in Greensburg, Ind., and had one child by this marriage. He married his second wife in Eaton, Ohio, and has one child by this marriage. He was living in Indianapolis, Ind., in 1910.
