Cora F. Beels Housner

Cora Frances, (Abner3, Jane2, John1) youngest daughter of Abner S. and Martha Beels, was born Dec. 2, 1865, in Brooklyn village, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. In September, 1868, her father removed to Sumner, Bremer Co., Iowa, where the family spent several years. She passed through the grammar grades and high school in Sumner. In 1883 Mr. Beels removed to Media township, near Wessington Springs, S. Dak. Cora Frances was married April 3, 1889, to George Lewis Housner, who was born Dec. 28, 1857. She united with the Baptist church June 3, 1883. After her marriage she and her husband united with the Congregational church. Mrs. Housner is a woman of faith, and consecrated and earnest in her religious life. She nursed and cared for her father during the closing years of her life when he was helpless as a child. Her home is on the farm in Media, where her father lived.

Mabel E., (Cora4, Abner3, Jane2, John1) oldest child of Cora F. and George Housner, was born April 11, 1890, in Media township, S. Dak. She attended the home school and then high school at Wessington Springs. She was married on April 3, 1910 to Harris Winegarden. He was born Nov. 28, 1882, in Humboldt Co., Iowa. Mrs. Winegarden is a member of the M. E. church.
