Asa Levi Burroughs

Asa Levi, (George3, Rebecca2, John1) son of George W. Burroughs and Delilah Rinard Burroughs, was born Aug. 8, 1861, at Lafayette, Ind. He graduated from the public schools of Lafayette and then studied four years at Purdue University, Lafayette. He then became a railroad employee. He was married to Anna T. Blackburn on March 7, 1893, at Lexington, Ky. One year later his wife died in Lafayette, Ind. He soon left Lafayette and went to Terrell, Tex. Here he secured a position of master of transportation on the Texas Midland R. R.

He was married to Miss Fannie Childress Nov. 22, 1899, at Terrell. She is the daughter of Brice and Kate Childress, and was born at Terrell, Jan. 3, 1880.

Mr. Burroughs united with the Episcopal Church in 1900. He died at Terrell on May 14, 1905. His widow, Mrs. Fannie Burroughs, married James T. Rountree and resides at Paris, Texas.

Asa Brice, (Asa4, George3, Rebecca2, John1)only child of Asa L. and Fannie Burroughs, was born Feb. 2, 1901, at Terrell, Tex. He lives with his mother, Mrs. James Rountree, at Paris, Tex., where he is attending the public schools.
